Spring Programs
The H2 Grand Prix program at the Innovation Station provides students the opportunity to design, build and race hydrogen fueled model vehicles. This program, in conjuction with PLUG Power helps develop future leaders with the creativity, ingenuity and critical thinking skills needed to tackle the energy challenges facing our world!
Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. Students learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals and functions that form the basis of all programming languages. This is a free program for students in 3-5th grade and 6th-12th grade.
Students explore key concepts involved in modeling parts and assemblies in a feature-based parametric CAD system.
In conjunction with Albany Can Code, Middle and High School Students learn basic Python and apply it to the design and creation of games. The class starts with an overview of the language. Students learn to create simple games as well as learn how to modify existing games. Through the reading and development of some games, students get familiar with programming principles and Python language specifics. Hands-on programming is the hallmark of this class with students completing the class being able to work with existing code and start to work on developing their code to modify and create their games.
