Students in 4-8th grade can participate in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge program where they will research, actively recruit professional mentors and develop an innovative solution to a real-world problem. They will also design, build and code a LEGO robot to solve themed challenge missions on a playing field, all while adhering to the FIRST Core Values. The students will present their project to a panel of judges and run their robot in a competition against local teams at the conclusion of their season.
Teams can be made up of 2-10 members, ages 9-14 and 2 adult coaches. Cost of program $50 to participate. Time commitment generally 2-3 hours per week, end of August to February.
