Meet our Team
President – Rick Robertson
Rick has worked in the renewable energy industry for more than 20 years in a range of marketing, business development and product management roles. He is currently VP – Business Development for Arcosa Wind Towers, the largest domestic manufacturer of wind turbine towers. Prior to joining Arcosa, Rick spent 16 years at GE Renewables. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. Rick has been coaching FLL for the past 10 years and has been a mentor for FTC the past 5 years.
Vice President – Brian Bailey
Dr. Bailey has been a lifelong resident of the Capital District. A musician by training, he received his Bachelor's and Master’s of Music with Distinction from the Crane School of Music. While teaching elementary, middle and high school music, he worked as the Bugler at Saratoga Race Course for ten years. Dr. Bailey has served as a building and district-level administrator for the last 20 years and is currently the Superintendent for the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central Schools. He is a member of the Community Advisory Committee for Lafarge/Holcim and a member of the Board of Directors for the STARS Intergen Corporation and Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce.
Secretary – Bryan Rowzee
Bryan Rowzee became the Senior Librarian at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility in February 2020. At CCF, he manages the General Library, arranges, and orders collection materials, organizes programs, assists patrons with their queries, catalogs materials, manages a crew of civilian and incarcerated clerks, and much more! Previously, Bryan worked as a technology focused senior librarian in the public sector after several years as an editor and helpdesk/production specialist in the private sector. Bryan received a Master of Information Science degree and Master of Science in Teaching degree in New York, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He is a Certified Public Librarian through the NY State Department of Education. Bryan currently serves as treasurer within NYLA's Section on Management of Information Resources and Technology [SMART].
Treasurer-Cindy Rowzee
Cindy Rowzee currently works in accounting for New York State. She holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from HVCC and a Bachelor's Degree in Family History from Brigham Young University. Cindy was an Accredited Genealogist ® and spent several years working as a professional genealogist. She currently holds Accredited Genealogist ® Emeritus status. She spent several years working in local government including 4 years as the Coeymans Town Clerk. Cindy enjoys working with numbers and has a great love of technology.
Facilities Director – Erik Deyoe
Erik Deyoe is the Associate Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services, Design and Construction Group. In this role, Mr. Deyoe supports the Deputy Commissioner providing general management and leadership of a team of over 550 highly skilled engineers, architects, contracting, and construction professionals providing design, project management, and construction management services to over 50 State agencies and authorities. OGS D&C has an active workload of over 1,000 projects in design development and construction across the State with a total construction value of over $6 billion. Previously, Mr. Deyoe served as the Director of the OGS Design & Construction Group’s Division of Design. Mr. Deyoe has nearly 30 years of experience in municipal utility operations, civil engineering, and project management on public and private-sector construction projects. Prior to joining OGS, he served as the Commissioner of Public Works for the Town of Bethlehem, responsible for the Town’s water and wastewater system, serving over 30,000 residents, engineering department, and capital improvement programs. He has also worked in various other engineering and operational capacities for municipalities and worked as a consulting engineer for two firms in the Engineering News Record’s Top 100 Design Firms. Mr. Deyoe is a licensed professional engineer in New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and completed graduate studies in Civil Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Deyoe volunteers with several youth organizations including as an Assistant Scoutmaster and New Member Coordinator for BSA Troop 1075, Sea Scout Ship 1415, and as a board member with the BSA Twin Rivers Council. He has also coached several Little League, youth soccer, and FIRST Lego League robotics teams.
Chair of Investor Acquisitions Council – Marlene McTigue
Marlene McTigue is the Director of Digital Strategy for the Schenectady Daily Gazette’s newly formed Smart City News division. With a goal of citywide Wi-Fi For All, Marlene works with small to midsize cities (50,000-100,000 population) such as Schenectady, to ensure access to essential information for all citizens. Marlene brings to the Innovation Station a diverse background in economic development, public relations, communications and marketing experience. Marlene is a passionate proponent of the Town of Coeymans and the people who live there. She first began serving the community shortly after her children were born as a Trustee of the Board of Directors of the RCS Community Library, Troop Leader for Girl Scout Troop 1490 and, since her children have grown, as the Vice Chairperson and now Chairperson of The Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Business Association where she works to advance the business community of her burgeoning southern Albany County town. Marlene is also involved in Economic Development initiatives on a county and state level as a member of the Board of Directors of the Albany County IDA and serves on the Leadership Team for the Center for Economic Growth. McTigue is familiar to Albany and Greene County residents for her many years as a journalist with Columbia-Greene Media. She is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in Journalism.
Board Member-Don Cross
Don is a graduate of RCS and went on to earn a BS in Human Biology and MBA from SUNY Albany. He has held varying scientific, engineering, continuous improvement, and leadership roles in biotechnology, aerostructures, and building systems. He is currently a Sr. Manager Process Sciences at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals leading a team in characterization, problem solving and new technology for protein purification processes. Prior to his current role at Regeneron, Don held positions at Quantum Engineering, Ducommun Incorporated (formerly Dynabil Industries), and Amgen. He is active in the RCS Community with current coaching and leadership roles in Hudson Valley Little League, Ravena Youth Basketball, Ravena Youth Soccer, and Ravena Innovation Station. He has experience serving in volunteer roles over the years as manager, coach, board member, president, and board chairman for various community serving organizations.
Board Member-Jeff Zemsky
Jeff is an engineer that loves sharing his joy of making things with the next generation of creators. In addition to working with the Ravena Innovation Station, he is active with Scouting in the Capital Region helping scouts find great adventure opportunities. Jeff is VP of Product Management at PTC, makers of Creo, OnShape and Windchill, helping customers design and manage products from sneakers to airplanes. Prior to joining PTC, Jeff enjoyed engineering products at Plug Power and Garden Way. He went to Lehigh University for his Bachelors and RPI for his Master.
Director of Security & Technology-Nathan Brotz
Nate has worked in the Electrical Construction Industry for 15 years. He is currently the V.P. of Business Development for Comalli Group, Inc.—one of the region's largest electrical contractors, where he works with clients to design and build electrical infrastructure for a variety of projects such as hospitals, local and federal buildings, hotels, restaurants, and large scale multi-residential projects. He is a graduate of HVCC with an AAS. Nate is a F.I.R.S.T Robotics Alumni of Team 1518; where he participated on the team for four consecutive years through high school and is a current coach for FLL.
Director of Communications-Kate Robertson
Kate received her BS in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College. She has treated patients in a variety of rehabilitative settings before working at her current position in an outpatient clinic for St. Peters Health Partners. She specializes in women's health and is a certified lymphedema therapist. She has been active in her community teaching Sunday School, organizing youth events and volunteering in her children's elementary classes. She has been coaching FIRST LEGO League teams for her four children since 2013.
Board Member- Erica Ganns-Herold
Erica Ganns received her AA in Humanities from SUNY Cobleskill. She is currently obtaining a BS in Legal Studies from SUNY Canton. She is energetic and passionate about her work in nonprofit community development, addressing the issues of vacancy and affordable housing in Albany County. Erica has two girls in the RCS Community and enjoys reading, hiking, and being of service to friends and family!
Board Member-Jessica Rarick
Jessica is a lifelong resident of the RCS area and a community business owner of C&M Mechanical. She has a degree in human services as well as being a Registered Nurse. She has 4 sons, one of which is a graduate of RCS and one is a graduate of homeschool. Jessica is currently homeschooling her youngest two children, who are both very math and science driven. They both participate in FIRST LEGO League teams and Jessica is coaching a FIRST LEGO League Explore team at the Innovation Station. Jessica is interested in helping facilitate more programs geared to the homeschool community.
Board Member-Raj Kaur
Raj is a seasoned Commercial Finance and Real Estate Executive with 18 years of experience in banking, specializing in financial management, loan structuring, and portfolio management. Currently serving as Vice President and Commercial Lender at Rhinebeck Bank, she has successfully established a profitable $50 million business portfolio and played a pivotal role in shaping bank policies to support strategic expansion in the Capital Region. Raj’s analytical expertise and strategic vision have consistently driven exceptional results. She has received accolades such as the 2024 Dealmaker of the Year award from the Albany Business Review, highlighting her impact on the industry. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Raj is deeply committed to community engagement. She serves on the board of Albany Action Community Partnership and Hospitality House Inc, as well as a coach at the Innovation Station. Raj has also served as a mentor for full-time MBA students at SUNY Albany, guiding them on their G3 (Going Green Globally) projects. In 2018 and 2019, she worked with Guilderland and Bethlehem public libraries, respectively, helping students develop strategies to save the institutions $100,000 through innovative revenue generation and expense reduction with a focus on green initiatives. Raj understands that finance plays a crucial role in STEM initiatives, particularly in teaching students about budgeting, project management, and resource allocation. With a Master’s in Business Administration from SUNY Albany, Raj combines her extensive knowledge and passion for finance with a dedication to fostering relationships and driving organizational success. She looks forward to contributing her skills and insights to the Board, helping to shape strategic initiatives that benefit students and the community alike.
